A Collection By Design
Completed, May 2010
www.acollectionbydesign.com
My sister is a graphic designer (actually a designer for some of the sites here) and she wanted a portfolio website so she can display her work and get more jobs. She designed the website (with my input into web usability) and I did all the programming. The site is programmed to be as simple to use as possible and matches the design provided as close as it could get. It uses PHP and jQuery for various aspects of the site and follows current standards.

This client was another graphi designer I have worked with in the past who wanted to create an online portfolio website. He provided all the designs and graphics and I wrote all the code. The site was made as SEO friendly as possible and was programmed in sch a way that it allowed for simple steps to edit the content by the designer without needed to come to me (or another programmer).

Blue Brain Golf
Completed, September 2006, May 2010
www.bluebraingolf.com
This client needed 3 sites created. 1 was a full site while the other 2 were landing pages at the moment. I took the designs that were provided to me and did all the HTML coding. I was forced to ignore some SEO standards due to the clients refusal to change the design. The site at the time followed standards but attempts have been made to update it as things have changed in 4 years.

MySportsTalent.com
This clients first programmer did a crummy job and then vanished with the clients money. I was asked to start over with the site and do not only the front facing programming but also the backend database work. MySQL tables were created as well as the PHP needed to connect and interact with it. As it was a membership site (free membership), coding requirements were needed to orevent the mining of the database as well as encrypting of passwords during submission as the site did not get a secure certificate.

Dudley Builders
Complete, August 2010
www.dudleybuilders.com
This client wanted me to take over for their original developer as the relationship was not going well. I could not apply any "band aids" the current work so the site was rebuild from scratch. After discussions, it was recommended to use a content system to build the website so they could make basic edits themselves. The new site was cleaned up design-wise and built using WordPress as the backend system. I brought in a designer to adjust the design so it was more user-friendly. Search engine optimization techniques were also taken into account when programming the site.

Truth About Health Care Reform
Completed, October 2009
www.truthabouthealthcarereform.org
This client found themselves almost out of money after having their website redesigned and programmed. They needed someone to come in and do all the content work, building tables, creating pages and styling content in the CMS system. The original programmer did not provide any help with this so I also had to clean up other pages the client tried to edit themselves. Image work was also needed as graphics usually came as PDFs or in Word DOCs so I needed to convert, crop and size the images used on many pages.

Vermont CARES
Completed, April 2005
www.vtcares.org
I worked with this client during college. They needed someone to make changes to content, add new pages and add new scripts like mail forms and PDF uploads. They also had a designer create a new design so I needed to do the programming to create the site with the new design and graphics.

The b Positive Project
Completed, August 2009
www.bpositiveproject.com
I was sub-contracted by a designer to do all of this backend database programming for this site. I worked closely with the designer to make recomendations about navigation and page layout. The designer provided all front end programming and I needed to build the MySQL database tables, write the PHP scripts to write to and pull data from the tables as well as validate all the forms with javascript (plugging it all into the provided templates). After the work for the initial site was completed, the client has gone to a cheaper developer to save costs and so the site has changed for the worse.

The Fundrazor Project
Completed, June 2009
url not available
This client had a developer doing the basic front end work but needed someone to do the backend PHP and MySQL database work. I did not have the designs to work with so I had to just write all the scripts so that the other programmer could just plug my code into the code they wrote.

New England Sinai: Cafe Menu
Completed, June 2010
internal website
I was sub-contracted by a design company to do the backend Coldfusion and MySQL coding for a hospitals cafe menu. The staff can toggle between the 3 menus for the current week as well as viewing the next weeksn menus. There is a third menu in the admin section that works as the "working on" menu so they can work on 1 while the other 2 are still visible and then just toggle them when the new menus ready.
