I try to provide you with as much information as I can so that you can make a knowledgeable decision to choose me or go elsewhere. My full-time employment gives me the knowledge needed to deal with the complexities of handling not only multiple browsers and computer support but also multiple language support as well. To top it all off, I also have knowledge in search engine optimization (SEO) and know the techniques needed to rank well with search engines like Google.

You would not believe the number of clients I work with who paid good money to someone to build a website and when I come in and look at the work that was done, see no use of SEO techniques or the lack of standard compliant code or even coding techniques that have been out of date for years. This is why my full-time job is such a benefit, I stay up to date with what is needed.

There are many benefits to dealing with a freelance developer to do your web development instead of a large web development company.

• Fewer Clients:
  Freelancers have fewer clients at any given moment. They don't take on more work than they can handle and this means that your work gets the full attention it deserves. I only take on what I can handle so I do not actively pursue more then I can do. If you contact me I will immediately let you know if your work goes beyond the time I can devote to it.
• Word of Mouth:
  Since most of the work that comes a freelancer's way are usually recommendations made by past clients, doing a bad job or slacking off is totally out of the question. Poor work means the freelancer won't be recommended to others and this means less work comes in down the line. This is a very bad situation to have for any developer who needs a steady income.
• Reputation:
  A freelancer's reputation always matters when it comes to getting more work. Just like how word of mouth can bring in business, a bad reputation can take work away. No freelancer wants to put their name on a bad site so they work extremely hard to make it perfect. Although I have seen examples of developers doing poor work and still putting their name on the site, I only put my name on good work, so I work extremely hard for you.
• Price:
  Freelancers have less overhead than a large company. This means the hourly rate is less. I work a full-time job and this job pays most of my important things (medical, dental and insurances). This means the only overhead I have on the money I make from freelance is taxes.

As you can see there are many benefits to going to a freelance developer for your project. If a freelance developer cannot do the work for you, you can then go to a larger company but wouldn't it be better to go to the less expensive source first?
